On the rare fifth Friday of January, veterans from across Ahwatukee gathered at Bubb’s 33 for an evening of stories, fellowship, and quiet reconnection.
On January 30, 2026, veterans gathered at Bubb’s 33 for Ahwatukee Post 64’s Fifth Friday Veterans’ Social Mixer. The evening, which ran from 3:30 PM to 8:00 PM, brought together service members from different eras, branches, and backgrounds — all sharing the common thread of having raised their right hand.
The gathering was the kind we keep coming back to: meaningful conversations, shared experiences, and genuine connection. As the evening unfolded, talk naturally drifted from old assignments and basic-training stories to the resources veterans need most in the Ahwatukee community today.
More than a social hour
Many veterans quietly miss the structure, mission, and sense of purpose that military service provided. Civilian life can feel disconnected by comparison. Gatherings like this one help fill that void — they rekindle purpose by simply putting veterans in a room with other veterans, no agenda required.
You do not need to be outgoing. You do not need to have everything figured out. Showing up is enough — and the seat across the table will be a friend before the appetizers arrive.
Come to the next one
Watch our events calendar for the next Fifth Friday gathering. There truly is no better way to spend an evening than with fellow veterans from the Ahwatukee community — and your seat at Post 64 is always waiting.
