April 2026 Events Highlights

By Craig Annis
Post 64 members and volunteers gather at an April 2026 community event.

A look at the gatherings, services, and community events Post 64 hosted throughout April 2026 — from Happy Hour Connections to the Easter Parade Honor Guard.

April brought Post 64 members and our Ahwatukee neighbors together for an unusually full month of fellowship, ceremony, and community service. Below is a recap of the gatherings that filled our calendar.

Happy Hour Connections — April 1 and April 22

Members and veterans met at Philly’s Sports Bar on the first and fourth Tuesdays at 3:30 PM. These informal Happy Hour Connections continue to be one of the simplest ways to step into Post 64 life — no agenda, just conversation, a meal, and time with fellow veterans.

Easter Parade Honor Guard — April 4

Our Honor Guard led the Ahwatukee Easter Parade on Saturday, April 4, presenting the colors at the front of the procession. The community’s response — applause, salutes, and quiet hands over hearts — was a humbling reminder of how much our neighbors value the service these members give.

Coffee Connection — April 8 and April 15

Coffee Connection met at 7:00 AM at The Buzzed Goat on the second and third Wednesdays. These early-morning gatherings have become a steady fixture for veterans who prefer a quiet conversation and a strong cup of coffee to a noisier evening event.

Post 64 Regular Meeting — April 15

The Members’ Business Meeting was held at 4:30 PM at the ARC facility on the third Wednesday, our standing date. Committee reports, upcoming-event planning, and the Commander’s remarks made up the bulk of the agenda.

Adopt-A-Street Cleaning — April 25

A small but determined crew gathered at 7:30 AM on April 25 for Post 64’s Adopt-A-Street cleanup. A morning of service before the Phoenix heat sets in — the kind of quiet work that keeps our neighborhood looking like one we are proud to live in.

Thank you to every member who showed up, brought a friend, or quietly took on a task without being asked. April was a strong month, and May promises more of the same.
